Kundalini Yoga & Meditation
Fatehbir Kaur began practicing Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® in 2004 and immediately benefited from the group energy and healing sound current. She earned her KRI certification in June 2009 from Yoga West Los Angeles and is registered with Yoga Alliance®. In 2011 she completed a 200-hour teacher certification at Shakta Yoga Teacher Training with Tanya Greve and Lauren Maher, who are experienced in such diverse styles as Hatha, Anusara, Kundalini, Yoga Therapy, Restorative and pre- and post-natal. Tanya and Lauren were Fatehbir's very first yoga teachers at the Burbank YMCA and instilled in her teaching style the values of compassion and humility. In 2012 she joined the Yoga West Teacher Trainer Team as a group leader for Level 1 and Level 2 trainings. Through this blessing, Fatehbir has had the opportunity to work closely with some of her most beloved teachers, including Guru Singh and Sat Siri Kaur, both of whom have guided her healing, growth and service through the practice of Kundalini yoga.
Fatehbir has profound gratitude for this sacred practice and likes to infuse her classes with candor and good humor. She teaches in diverse settings such as the YMCA, a cancer support center and an assisted living facility. She is currently developing Yoga for Real Seniors, an instruction manual and program for people who want to bring the benefits of a committed yoga practice to seniors with extremely limited mobility and/or memory function. When Fatehbir began working with seniors in 2012, she found very few teaching resources aimed at this group. She has adapted pranayam, meditation and seated postures to make this original approach ideal for those coping with dementia, chronic pain and illness and other geriatric conditions.
